3 Ways to Style a Skacket
November 2021
I have to admit, it took me a full year to jump on the shacket trend because one, it seemed weird, and two, I wasn't sure how versatile it could be. However, I am here to tell you, I am a full shacket convert. It is a great alternative to a denim or cargo jacket, it is actually warmer than it looks, and it can be styled so many different ways. Check out the 3 ways I styled my shacket.
Before we get started, a shacket is a combination between a shirt and a jacket. The most popular style is plaid with a wool blend material, but more recently, corduroy has become super popular. You can find them almost anywhere, but if you buy one from Amazon, make sure to read the reviews. Sometimes they can be scratchy or run very large.
I am always looking for ways to style these white booties that I just had to have last year so the shacket was the perfect option. The one I bought is pink, gray, and black, so I paired it with these gray jeans and these white booties that are an Amazon find. This might be the most casual of the three styles, so it is the perfect weekend look. The key to this style is to find the color that is the least predominate in the pattern and use that for your pants. Then, you can add in the white booties without it looking like too much white in the outfit.
Most people wear their shacket styled with jeans or leggings, but you can also dress it up. I styled mine with this Amazon bodycon dress and it was a great way to repurpose a white dress from summer and also hide any flaws you don't want seen. With this color scheme, you could also swap out the tan boots with some black over the boots for a different look.
This is the actual outfit I wore for casual Friday. Just like with the first outfit, I picked out one of the minor colors in the shacket and used that for the accessories with the black booties and black belt.
For winter, be on the look out for a 4th way to style this shacket: all black.
