The Shoes You Need for Pickleball

Grab a partner and the perfect pair of shoes, and let's pickleball!

Pickleball has quickly taken over tennis courts and communities all over and for good reason! All ages, genders, and skill levels can easily succeed on the pickleball court, and it is a great way to get everyone involved. For me, I love that you can get a workout that isn't as intense as tennis, it is something I can play with everyone in my family, and it also gives me another excuse to invest in cute workout clothes and shoes!  However, even though we aren't pros yet, we still need comfortable shoes that are pickleball approved.

What to Wear When Playing Pickleball

Pickleball is the hot girl walk of 2023! It's more fun with friends, it's a great workout, and you definitely need a great outfit. You can always go with the classic activewear dress or shorts and T-shirt, but the shoes are the most important part. In pickleball, you need a pair of shoes that are comfortable and versatile because you will definitely be running all around the court. And because most of the action takes place up by the kitchen, you need shoes that allow you to change direction on a dime and provide great lateral support, without the fear of a twisted ankle.

When I play, I like to wear my Easy Spirit x Denise Austin Dilli sneakers for those reasons and so much more! I'm no pickleball professional, so if I am going to invest in a shoe, it needs to be something I can wear on and off the court. These Easy Spirit sneakers are perfect for any activity or your active lifestyle.

Help! I Want to Play But Don't Know the Rules!

If you've been thinking about learning pickleball but haven't started yet, what are you waiting for?! Now that you have the outfit and the perfect pair of Easy Spirit shoes, get on out there!

The best way to start is with a partner. Singles can be hard (and there is a lot of running!), so I recommend starting with doubles. Plus, it is a lot more fun. The best thing about pickleball is that it is really all about having fun, so don't spend too much time worrying about the rules as you first start. You will definitely learn as you make mistakes and get better with your rules knowledge each time.  Some easy rules to know before you start are that you can only score a point if you are serving, don't hang out in the kitchen, and celebrations are required when you score.

So find a partner, maybe a matching outfit, and grab these perfect pickleball shoes and you are ready to go!
