NSale 2022
Nordstrom Anniversary Sale
July 2022
It's that time of year again! Better known as my Christmas in July, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale started this month for cardholders and the general public. Let me first say that you do not need to buy anything! Every year I feel like I get swept up in all of the try-on's, the must-have products, and the "run, it's is going to sell out" messages, but if you go into the sale with a plan and stick to it, you can't go wrong.
One of the great things about the sale is that it features items for fall and winter and not things from past seasons. At this point, I am ready to move on to sweaters and booties, so this is a great time to grab some of those things. Nordstrom also features hair and beauty products with really great discounts so make sure to pay attention to those and grab what you need.
What's On My Wishlist
When shopping the sale, I have two pieces of advice:
1. Look for investment pieces (like the Steve Madden booties)
2. Create a Wish List for the things you want so you can easily check out the day you are able to shop.
Full disclosure, I cannot shop the sale until the day before the general public can because I don't feel the need to have another credit card. That means that a lot of things have sold out or will sell quickly once everyone has access, so you have to be ready to click buy on the things you want. This is what is on my list for this year.
My Wishlist
Dolman sweater: I am keeping my fingers crossed that this comes back in stock, specifically in pink. I have seen this in so many try ons and it is the perfect, casual sweater. If it doesn't come back, here is another one that is similar.
Leather shorts: I wasn't looking for something like this, but saw it styled for both summer and fall and added it to my list immediately. The black was sold out recently, but they also come in an olive color.
Tweed dress: This dress comes with the long sleeve shirt as well and is just a good work piece.
Orange tie dress: I like this because of the color (perfect for fall, football games, and work) and it is super flattering with the tie by the waist. It also comes in black.
Floral dress: there are several of these dresses by this designer in the sale and any of them would be great. I like this color for fall (paired with some suede, tall boots) and I am gravitating toward the drop waist style more and more.
Brown and pink mules: To be honest, I need to see this on a foot first to see if I like the way the open top looks, but I love the two colors and the chain detail. Mules are also super popular and are my go to work shoe.
Black booties: I have a similar pair already but they are starting to show wear. This is not a must add to cart for me, but more of a maybe if I want to replace my other pair. I like the heel height and the cross over of the leather on the top.
Pink hat: Do I need this? No. Do I want this? Absolutely. And for under $35, why not?!
Tall brown boots: These are a maybe for me but if you need a pair of tall boots with a heel, go for these for sure. The quality is great and the heel is the perfect height for work.
Beauty Buys
Laura Mercier eyeshadow sticks or Bobbi Brown eyeshadow sticks: I have used the Laura Mercier ones before and LOVE them. It is a cream to powder formula and they last all day long. And, the application is super smooth and easy. However, the Bobbi Brown ones sound similar but are cheaper. So I may go with these first if they are available.
Donna Karen deodorant: If you are part of the cult following, please forgive me because I have never tried this before. However, this is the year. My only fear is that I am going to be hooked and it always sells out!
Supergoop glow screen: This is my go to sunscreen and primer in the summer and I am almost out. This is a great time to stock up on beauty favorites while they are on sale.
Nsale Dupes
Some years I get lucky, and my wish list items come back in stock, but there is always one thing that I really want that seems to never be re-stocked. If you have felt this as well, check out my Nsale dupes! I rounded up some save vs. splurge items from other retailers in case your favorite Nordstrom item sells out or you are looking for a more inexpensive find.
Eyeshadow: I actually found this when I was looking for a less expensive version of the Stila cream eyeshadow. You can get this at Ulta, and I recently found it at Kroger as well!
Cardigan: This was a top item from you all last fall and winter. It is my most worn piece and the quality is so good!
Pink sweatshirt: Not only is this an Amazon find but it is also a dupe for the Lululemon scuba one that everyone is loving right now.
Blanket: To be honest, I have yet to try the Barefoot dreams version, but I also know it is waaaaaay too expensive for me. This has great reviews and seems like a great alternative.
